Gear Diary: Open It! - The most useful product I have ever reviewed.

So how ironic is it that you need a pair of Open It! cutters to open the blister packaging *it* comes it? ;o)

You don't need this. Just use a regular can opener. You know the kind that snaps on the side of a can and you turn the handle. Works just as good.

These sold out of stock last Christmas. Probably thanks to Gear Diary. If you want one, might want to get it now. I like to use a pocket knife. The risk of losing a limb is such a rush !

I'm not sure they sold out due to the GearDiary mention -- didn't someone on TV spotlight these as well?

Regardless - they're awesome - I use them all the time to open just about anything that has tough packaging.

Anyone with kids needs a pair BEFORE the holidays so they can cut through all the packaging.

It's actually fun now to "defeat" the crappy packaging that manufacturers throw at us!!

I found this display of Open It! at Home Depot yesterday while I was in buying pumpkins for a school project.

Personally, I would not buy these gizmos. I currently use a large shear that I use for cutting hard objects such as aluminum sheets, heavy wires, thick plastic, ... This kind of cutting tool is very handy around the house and it will effortlessly cut through the plastic like there is no tomorrow.

I've seen gadgets like these that come in the very same kind of packaging they try to help you open.
